About Me

My name is Kaelyn Janelle Ellison. I’m a UX/UI Designer and Researcher from Chicago, IL.

I am a first-generation college graduate from Fisk University. I initially went to there as a psychology pre-med major and as I matriculated through, I realized I was no longer passionate about medicine the way I am passionate about making innovative designs that empathizes with people.

So what does one do when they explore that creative fire within them? They take a leap of faith and change the entire course of their career aspirations in the the first semester of their senior year of college :)

My story is like no other. One thing that separates me from the rest is I am always willing to look for a change and be adaptable to anything that goes on around me. That includes graduating with a Psychology degree and I now attend DePaul University for my Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction.

  • I am currently a graduate at DePaul University student majoring in human-computer interaction. I am pursuing to be an Human-Centered Designer/Researcher for AI systems and reforming the ethical standards behind it. I want to be able to design AI to be more user centric for human beings and exploring creative designs for the betterment of technology and humanity.

  • I went to college for psychology on a medical track. As I went through my years, I started to explore more creative outlets that I was more passionate about than going to medical school. By the time my junior year came, I had to be honest with myself and finally admit…..I don’t like science like that LOL! Fast forward to now, as the infamous rapper Drake once said, “STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM NOW WE HERE!”

  • 1.) Sushi and french fries.

    2.) Books and anime! Currently watching Ergo Proxy and my favorite anime is Kakegurui.

    3.) Family and my college best friends.

    4.) My puppy dog duece. He’s a lab and rottweiler mix.

    5.) PINK EVERYTHING!!!!!!
